On Mar. 21, 2006, Prof. Manfred Thumm, from University of KArlsruhe in Germany, visited our lab accompanied by Prof Zhang Shichang. Prof. Wang Jiasu introduced the principle, development and characteristic of HTS Maglev. Prof. Thumb taste the vehicle. Then Mr. Lu Yiyun showed three self-developed apparatuses in our lab. Pof. Thumm expressed his appreciation to our work and hope more development.
     Manfred Thumm, IEEE fellow, a full professor at the institute of Microwaves and Electronics, University of Karlssruhe, Germany and Head of the Gyrotron Development and Microwave Technology Division, Inisititue for Technical Physics, Forschungszentrum Rearch Center, University of Karlsruhe. Since April 1999, he has been the Director of the Inistitute of Pulsed Power and Microwave Technology, University of Karlsruhe, where his current research projects are the development of high-power gyrotrons , windows and transmission lines for nuclear fusion plasma heating and material processing. And he got KJ Button Medal and Prize in 2000.
